Park Rite’s collaboration also extends its support to local businesses. This symbiotic relationship strengthens the local economy, supporting entrepreneurship, and contributing to the overall vitality of the community.

The GreenMile Grille Food Truck Nourishes More Than Appetites

At the heart of Park Rite’s community-centered approach is the GreenMile Grille food truck. A beacon of culinary delights, Chef Dink Dawson serves a diverse range of mouthwatering dishes that satisfy taste buds. Chef Dink starred in Netflix’s film Coldwater Kitchen. The film was featured at one of frame’s Dinner & Movie events with the Freep Film Festival in April and went on to win a James Beard award for best documentary.

The documentary follows the Food Tech program at Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater, highlighting the journeys of men training in culinary arts while incarcerated. Chef Dink Dawson participated in the program and after a 7-year prison sentence, returned to Detroit and opened the GreenMile Grille food truck. A true story of perseverance and tenacity.

The successful collaboration between Park Rite and GreenMile Grille showcases the positive impact that businesses can have when they work together to enhance the overall well-being of a community. Through initiatives like this, Park Rite is driving positive change and reinforcing the fact that Detroit is a city that thrives on innovation, community engagement, and cultural vibrancy.
