Park Rite recently partnered with College for Creative Studies students and Nicole Tamer Art to adorn our Trolley Plaza Garage in Downtown Detroit with stunning mural artwork.
The project was led by CCS Illustration Chair and renowned international artist Don Kilpatrick, and Nicole George, founder and curator of the Nicole Tamer Art Gallery. Local painter Kelly Golden installed the mural.
On November 17, CCS, Nick Aubrey of Park Rite & Nicole Tamer Art Gallery hosted a celebration and viewing of the work of all of the students; Lisa Brandt, Eduardo Gonzalez, Amador Inman, Dauen (Dana) Lee, Tatum Lorway, Olivia Rominger, Nicholas Salt and Nate Sweitzer.
“I love Detroit and chose to work with CCS students because I believe we need to celebrate everything that the city, school, and these talented students have to offer,” said Nick Aubrey, Co-owner, Park Rite.
Students were given full creative freedom although many kept Detroit in mind and considering the grid-like architecture, they were forced to think on a grander scale. Trolley Plaza Garage, located at 1431 Washington Blvd in Detroit, is a popular parking location near Grand Circus Park and Woodward Ave.
